My Mom is Addicted to Farmtown
I’m on Facebook and it serves it’s purpose. Generally I use it to keep in touch with all of those people I’ve known over the years but don’t really have enough to say to them to call or email. It’s handy for that. I also play Mafia Wars, Dope Wars, and yes a little bit of Farmtown. I just recently started playing Farmtown, and I had the notifications blocked forever because of all the junk you get from it. I do remember seeing several things like “How you know you’re addicted to farmtown” and the like and thought to myself, who are these people.
Recently I found out who they are. My sister (who is 42) plays alot but I wouldn’t say she’s addicted. Her boyfriend is a man’s man who watches all manner of sports, has the son who is an all star in three sports, and lives for NTN sports triva night at TGI Fridays. He used to make fun of her all the time for spending too much time on Farmtown. Recently I was going to build a fence for them. As we sat there in the living room discussing what I would need from Lowes I saw he was on the laptop. I asked what he was so engrossed in, and you guessed it, it was Farmtown. When it came time to leave, it was hell to get him off the computer. So I thought maybe there was something to this addiction thing.
Then I find out my mom is playing Farmtown. I hadn’t know this because I won’t friend her on Facebook. Mom has a bad knee and for whatever reason, sitting at the computer for long periods of time seem to agrevate it more than anything. The other day we went to eat and I had to help her out of the car because she had been on the computer all day. Then one day she calls me while she was out and asked me to go by the house and check to see if her crops were ready. I was in total shock. Now that she’s gotten going a bit on the game, it’s only gotten worse. She shames people when she thinks their farm looks shitty, and the other day she had someone harvesting her crops but decided they were taking too long so she starts doing it herself while they were still at her farm! Okay, many of you won’t know why that’s wrong, but those of you who play know what I’m talking about.
And she thought I needed to got to rehab for Pot once!

I refuse to even consider playing it. I think I agreed to be someone’s friend or something on Mafia Wars, and because of agreeing to that one person all of a sudden I was a bunch of other people’s friend, too.
It’s funny as shit that your mom is critisizing other people’s farms. Too funny. My mom would totally do that.
